The decision in focus

Manage the transaction by dependencies and named owners. Fast turnaround is useful only if the aircraft, borrower, insurance, title and acceptance work are actually ready.

Start independent work in parallel

Borrower-document collection, aircraft specification review, insurance discussion and technical-inspection planning can often begin before final closing preparation. Confirm the actual sequence with the lender. A provider's published process is context, not a service guarantee or a universal timetable for a California jet purchase.

Identify the critical path

List tasks that prevent the next stage: missing entity authority, incomplete records, inspection slots, valuation questions, unresolved title interests or final insurance evidence. Assign each to a person and date. A calendar showing every task on the same closing day conceals dependencies rather than managing them.

Keep conditions and approvals distinct

Record preliminary indications, lender conditions, purchase acceptance and permission to release funds separately. One team member's statement that their work is complete does not establish the entire transaction is ready. Use a shared closing checklist and confirm which party has authority to declare each condition satisfied.

Plan for dates that move

If inspection findings or delivery changes push closing, update payoff quotes, funding validity, insurance dates, crew arrangements and tax review. Preserve contingency time and cash. Do not assume documents dated for one closing automatically remain correct for the next, especially when legal parties, price or aircraft condition have changed.

Illustrative decision worksheet

Illustrative only: all borrower documents are ready, but the inspection slot occurs after the purchase agreement's acceptance deadline. The issue is not solved by a fast credit review. Ask the parties and advisers to align contractual dates and inspection/funding conditions before relying on the original close date.

  • Critical dependencies
  • Separate condition statuses
  • Date-change review
