Choose among coastal, southern East Bay and inland East Bay basing proposals.
Separate the ground markets
Map the passenger destinations before ranking airports. OAK, HWD and CCR occupy different positions relative to the owner's recurring East Bay travel. A business concentrated inland may value a different base from one centered around Oakland or the southern East Bay. Add any repeated trips to San Francisco or the Peninsula using current transfer estimates rather than assume every East Bay base has equivalent access.
Compare written service packages
Ask every provider for the same aircraft dimensions, storage duration, towing, access, insurance, handling, fuel and after-hours support. Identify airport fees outside the provider quote; OAK publishes a separate landing-fee billing resource. Determine which maintenance can be handled locally and which requires positioning. Avoid concluding that a smaller or executive airport is automatically a lower-cost choice.
Keep the financial comparison controlled
Hold aircraft purchase price, loan terms, flight hours and reserves fixed across scenarios, then change only the base-specific costs and travel effects. Model actual available space rather than an advertised category. Retain the location and use evidence needed for Alameda or Contra Costa County assessment discussions and obtain separate advice on any California delivery or acquisition-tax plan.
Your next-step checklist
- Map coastal, southern and inland destinations.
- Separate airport and provider fees.
- Hold financing and reserves constant.
- Track actual basing across county lines.
