The directory is informational. Categories describe published services; no ranking, service guarantee, FAA certificate determination or endorsement is implied. Ask each provider about current capability, availability and contract terms.

The decision in focus

Evaluate Redding Regional Airport as a home base or recurring destination for the actual aircraft, passengers and schedule.

Identify the correct Redding airport

The city operates airport resources for Redding Regional and Benton Field, while the regional transportation agency identifies RDD as the region's commercial-service airport. Use RDD/KRDD in the aircraft proposal and acquisition records. A hangar waiting-list process associated with another local field must not be copied into a Redding Regional promise without checking the actual airport and storage category.

Map northern California support needs

For an owner with repeated destinations in Shasta County or surrounding northern California communities, examine the complete annual mission. Ask which maintenance, parts, crew and management support can be provided locally for the selected jet and which needs travel or repositioning. A lower quoted storage line may be offset by support logistics; compare a full year rather than a single monthly charge.

Build a current service and access plan

Obtain storage, handling, fuel, towing, access, insurance and after-hours terms directly. Have the operator review current official information for the intended aircraft and travel schedule, including how notices or temporary disruptions are communicated. Do not infer a future guarantee from an airline route announcement or from the airport's regional service description.

Keep the financing scenario realistic

Add realistic inspection and delivery positioning, initial reserves and outside support to the acquisition budget. Show ongoing ownership expenses separately from loan payments and model lower utilization as well as the expected case. Retain actual location and use records for Shasta County assessment questions, with qualified advice for California transaction-tax treatment rather than assumptions based on distance from major coastal cities.

Build a base-comparison worksheet

Use an RDD ownership worksheet with actual Shasta-region destinations, aircraft-specific maintenance support, visiting-specialist costs, contracted storage, handling, access and crew logistics. If comparing a Sacramento base, identify the added aircraft positioning and ground travel instead of presenting SAC or MCC as nearby substitutes. Benton Field is a separate local facility and must not inherit RDD's aircraft assumptions or contract terms; have the operating team determine whether any local alternative is appropriate. Test lower annual utilization because fixed support and financing costs continue even when fewer trips are flown.

Confirm the local reporting and contract roles

Direct Redding airport policy questions to the city or relevant operator and aircraft assessment questions to Shasta County or the tax adviser. Verify which airport and storage category every waiting-list or service document actually concerns. Keep the owner's real aircraft base, legal entity and location records separate from a regional mailing address. Ask who retains fee and use evidence when outside crew or management handles trips, rather than reconstruct annual activity from a few fuel receipts.

Compare your basing alternatives

Use this worksheet to request like-for-like evidence for the actual aircraft and recurring trips. Blank or unconfirmed items remain decisions to investigate, not implied airport capabilities.

Your next-step checklist

  • Is the proposal for RDD rather than Benton Field?
  • What model-specific support must travel to the aircraft?
  • How does lower utilization affect the annual cost?
