FBOs & aviation businesses
Start with the providers’ published locations and the airport’s business directory. Compare written proposals for the exact aircraft and services you need.
Threshold Aviation Group
909-606-6164County airport directory and company site identify Chino FBO services; phone is from the county directory.
Flying Tigers Aviation

The directory is informational. Categories describe published services; no ranking, service guarantee, FAA certificate determination or endorsement is implied. Ask each provider about current capability, availability and contract terms.
Evaluate Chino Airport as a home base or recurring destination for the actual aircraft, passengers and schedule.
Evaluate a general-aviation service ecosystem
San Bernardino County identifies Chino as a general-aviation airport serving private owners and corporate users. Its official directory includes aviation maintenance, management, charter and refurbishment businesses. That breadth makes a service-coordination discussion worthwhile, but it does not establish that the specialist needed for a particular jet is approved, available or independent of the transaction. Confirm each provider's exact authorization and scope.
Separate inspection independence from location
If a seller, broker or maintenance company is based at Chino, select a pre-purchase inspection provider through a documented scope and conflict review. Geographic convenience does not settle independence. Obtain estimates for the inspection, discrepancy resolution and repositioning, then make the purchase agreement's deadlines consistent with those arrangements rather than assuming an on-field slot will be available.
Obtain space-specific terms
The county publishes leasing and airport-map resources. A development opportunity or directory listing is not evidence of immediate aircraft storage. Ask about existing space, dimensions, shared use, towing, insurance, renewal rights and any approval required for the intended business activity. Evaluate access to Orange County, Riverside and Los Angeles destinations through actual travel scenarios.
Carry local costs into the financing model
Compare Chino with Ontario and John Wayne using recurring storage and service charges, not an assumed inland discount. Document delivery, inspection and basing locations separately. Consult the San Bernardino County assessor or the buyer's adviser about the actual aircraft's reporting facts; the airport choice alone does not establish acquisition-tax treatment or the final annual property-tax bill.
Build a base-comparison worksheet
Compare CNO with ONT and SNA using an aircraft-specific service matrix: storage actually offered, inspection capability and independence, maintenance or refurbishment scope, required approvals, owner access and positioning. Treat each listed airport business as a contact to verify, not a service bundle already promised to the buyer. Use written quotes with exclusions and completion dates. If a provider is involved in both selling and inspecting the aircraft, flag the relationship in the worksheet. A lower headline storage amount should remain separate from technical acceptance and the cost of work that must occur elsewhere.
Confirm the local reporting and contract roles
Ask San Bernardino County airport administration which approvals govern the proposed storage or business activity and which party holds the relevant space rights. Ask the assessor or tax adviser about aircraft reporting separately; administrative airport approval is not a tax determination. Preserve any required insurance and access conditions with the provider contract. If a proposed space is part of future development, identify it as contingent and budget a real interim arrangement.
Compare your basing alternatives
Use this worksheet to request like-for-like evidence for the actual aircraft and recurring trips. Blank or unconfirmed items remain decisions to investigate, not implied airport capabilities.
| Decision variable | CNO evidence | Alternative evidence | Owner priority / unresolved question |
|---|---|---|---|
| Actual passenger ground itinerary | Obtain current route estimate | Use the same dates and destinations | No fixed transfer-time promise |
| Storage rights and availability | Signed offer, conditional offer or inquiry | Record the same evidence category | Do not price unavailable space as confirmed |
| Airport and provider charges | Request itemized current proposal | Match aircraft and annual activity | Identify excluded or unquoted items |
| Operating and noise review | Current source and qualified operator review | Use each airport's own rules | Distinguish mandatory and voluntary only when verified |
| Assessment and records | Ask the appropriate assessor or adviser | Document actual changed basing facts | No automatic situs or exemption conclusion |
Your next-step checklist
- Is the proposed inspection provider independent of the seller?
- Is the quoted space existing and available or a development proposal?
- What approvals govern the intended aircraft activity?
