FBOs & aviation businesses
Start with the providers’ published locations and the airport’s business directory. Compare written proposals for the exact aircraft and services you need.
Atlantic Aviation Fresno

559-251-1555City airport directory lists FBO, storage, fuel and other service categories.
Signature Aviation Fresno

The directory is informational. Categories describe published services; no ranking, service guarantee, FAA certificate determination or endorsement is implied. Ask each provider about current capability, availability and contract terms.
Evaluate Fresno Yosemite International Airport as a home base or recurring destination for the actual aircraft, passengers and schedule.
Recognize the joint-use setting
The airport's official general-aviation page identifies its shared setting with the California Air National Guard and directs pilots to relevant safety information. This is a reason for a current professional operational review, not a basis for predicting delays or limiting aircraft categories in a finance article. Have the flight department obtain the current notices, local information and procedures.
Build the Central Valley trip map
Map the owner's recurring business destinations, passenger origins and maintenance locations. Fresno can be evaluated as a home base, a recurring business destination or an arrival point followed by ground travel. The airport's Yosemite name does not promise a fixed transfer time or access to every mountain destination. Verify the actual ground itinerary and seasonal travel arrangements separately.
Compare the complete provider proposal
Request aircraft-specific storage and handling terms, including shared hangar arrangements, towing, fuel, access, insurance and after-hours support. Confirm which model-specific maintenance or management services are offered and which require repositioning. If comparing another Central Valley field, keep the aircraft and utilization consistent rather than treating any inland airport as an automatic discount.
Keep cash and tax assumptions distinct
Add inspection, delivery and initial operating reserves to the acquisition cash budget, then show ongoing debt service separately from operating costs. Retain actual basing and use records for Fresno County assessment discussions. The buyer's business activity, farmland ownership or regional travel pattern does not itself establish an aircraft sales/use-tax exemption or special assessment treatment.
Build a base-comparison worksheet
Create a Fresno mission worksheet with actual Central Valley destinations, exact model support, signed storage, provider fees, crew access and maintenance positioning. Add a professionally screened local or regional alternative only if it serves the same trip; SBP or SAC should not be treated as a short ground-transfer substitute for every Fresno destination. Ask the operator to document review of the current joint-use information without predicting delays. Include visiting-specialist costs and a lower-utilization year. A cheap fixed storage line should not dominate the comparison when essential support expenses remain unknown.
Confirm the local reporting and contract roles
Separate city airport administration, military-activity information, private provider contracts and Fresno County assessment. Ask the appropriate adviser what actual location and use records are needed, rather than infer aircraft treatment from the owner's business sector. An agricultural or regional-business connection does not automatically qualify the aircraft for a special tax category. Confirm who receives airport invoices and who retains the original records if a manager handles the aircraft's day-to-day operations.
Compare your basing alternatives
Use this worksheet to request like-for-like evidence for the actual aircraft and recurring trips. Blank or unconfirmed items remain decisions to investigate, not implied airport capabilities.
| Decision variable | FAT evidence | Alternative evidence | Owner priority / unresolved question |
|---|---|---|---|
| Actual passenger ground itinerary | Obtain current route estimate | Use the same dates and destinations | No fixed transfer-time promise |
| Storage rights and availability | Signed offer, conditional offer or inquiry | Record the same evidence category | Do not price unavailable space as confirmed |
| Airport and provider charges | Request itemized current proposal | Match aircraft and annual activity | Identify excluded or unquoted items |
| Operating and noise review | Current source and qualified operator review | Use each airport's own rules | Distinguish mandatory and voluntary only when verified |
| Assessment and records | Ask the appropriate assessor or adviser | Document actual changed basing facts | No automatic situs or exemption conclusion |
Your next-step checklist
- Has the flight department reviewed the current joint-use information?
- Which services require repositioning to another field?
- What does the actual ground itinerary require beyond the airport?
