The decision in focus

Assess acquisition and ownership commitments of Gulfstream G700

Write the cabin requirement

Gulfstream emphasizes the G700 cabin and living-area flexibility. Identify spaces needed for work, dining, sleep and crew. Compare the approved layout and cost personalization separately, including delivery timing and future marketability.

Assess crew and journey

Long missions require scheduling, support, reserves and alternatives. Have an operator review the actual configuration and itinerary. Range alone does not establish trip practicality or the availability of crew needed.

Budget entry into service

Track deposits, acceptance, insurance, training, management, hangar and cabin work as separate milestones. Used purchases add transfers. Fund overlap with existing travel until the aircraft is ready for intended use.

Make concentration and exit visible

Compare acquisition cash, fixed cost, financed balance and net exit proceeds. Stress downtime and a slow sale. Ask valuation advisers about actual layout and equipment rather than assuming customization retains its cost.

Value living-area functions and Pearl 700 support separately

Gulfstream identifies Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines and the Symmetry flight deck for the G700. Its cabin flexibility remains subject to the approved installed layout: obtain the plan and identify working, dining, sleeping, service and crew functions in the actual operation. Request engine identities, coverage agreements, transfer terms, installed systems and relevant modifications. Ask what personalization requires in approvals, weight/configuration review, downtime and continuing support before assigning its cost. A shared engine program with another Gulfstream offering does not make the airframe, training, cabin or operating budget interchangeable. Normalize proposals using actual providers and the operating team's intended schedule.

Worked cabin and ownership decision exercise

Illustrative exercise: compare two G700 layouts for a California owner with recurring work-group travel and occasional overnight international trips. List usable workspace, dining, sleep, service, crew and baggage functions after an operator review. Identify functions lost when seats are converted. Add actual refurbishment, downtime, training and subscription proposals only after eligibility is established. Compare a common holding period and a later sale with remaining debt shown. The worksheet asks which documented layout serves recurring needs; it does not treat maximum seating, personalization cost or luxury appearance as proof of better resale. Retain the approved layout, functional assessment, support agreements and quote evidence with the result.

Source boundaries

The OEM's maximum cabin and performance descriptions do not establish every airframe's usable layout. This exercise is not a refurbishment approval, cost quote, resale forecast or flight authorization. Confirm candidate-specific benefits and obligations with the relevant professionals.
