The decision in focus

Assess acquisition and ownership commitments of Dassault Falcon 900LX

Confirm full identity

Dassault's official fleet navigation identifies the 900LX separately. Use exact type, serial, engines, modifications and systems in the purchase file. Do not transfer current descriptions to earlier aircraft sharing the family name.

Forecast maintenance

Have a model-experienced independent adviser reconcile records, component status, programs and forward work. Identify calendar, prior-use and modification exposure. A recent inspection is useful evidence, not a substitute for a future cost and downtime forecast.

Explain the travel rationale

List passengers, cabin needs, trips and California bases. Have the operator evaluate the offered configuration and alternatives. This establishes the acquisition purpose without assuming brochure capabilities approve every route or airport.

Combine debt and maintenance calendars

Compare maturity, exit balance and major work. Ask how the lender evaluates this aircraft and condition. Preserve contingency cash for findings and calculate any existing-aircraft contribution after payoff and sale costs.

Use a serial-specific OEM worksheet as an evidence model

A public Dassault preowned technical sheet separately lists three engine identities and times, APU status, EASy configuration, tracking and cabin arrangements. Its value here is the evidence structure: request those categories for the actual candidate and have the independent adviser reconcile them. Do not transfer that sheet's times, maintenance dates, equipment or compliance labels to another airframe. It is dated and marked draft to be validated. For a Falcon 900-family comparison, obtain each engine's records and coverage separately, plus the installed cockpit and cabin evidence. A listing's LX label cannot establish identical technical exposure, inspection requirements or ownership commitments across candidates.

Worked records-to-decision exercise

Illustrative exercise: compare two candidate packages using columns for airframe identity, each engine serial/time/cycle record, APU, avionics, programs, forecast calendar work and cabin functions. Mark each item confirmed, inconsistent or missing and identify its supporting document. Ask the technical adviser what further evidence or inspection is needed before price and finance comparisons are finalized. Compare acquisition cash and time required to resolve open items without assuming missing evidence is harmless or automatically disqualifying. The exercise creates a traceable diligence file rather than a family-wide performance claim. Record the adviser actions, actual work quotes and any change to acceptance or funding dates.

Source boundaries

The OEM worksheet is serial-specific, dated December 2024 and explicitly a draft. It illustrates record categories, not current inventory, another aircraft's condition, fleet-wide intervals or financing terms.

  • Forward maintenance forecast
  • Mission rationale
  • Debt and maintenance calendar
